The XVII Biennial Conference of the IASC is a great opportunity to gain insights and inspirations about the diverse aspects of researching the commons. A great share of the work presented is on how we use and manage water resources. Fiorenza Micheli emphasized in her keynote speach the challenges of resource degradation our oceans are confronted with – challenges such as low oxygen levels and algal blooms we also see at lakes.

The exchange with researchers from all over the globe on how to better understand the interactions of us humans with natural resources is so enriching.
